ABOUT
Hi, I'm Dr. Jonathan Fricke. I'm a licensed psychologist based in Colorado. I earned my doctorate in clinical psychology from the University of Denver and work with teens, young adults, and adults experiencing anxiety, depression, stress, burnout, life transitions, relationship difficulties, substance use, grief, trauma, and issues of identity, as well as those simply curious about therapy. I also enjoy working with couples experiencing disconnect and communication issues.

I approach therapy with the intention of helping you pursue a life of meaning and fulfillment. In my experience, this starts with living authentically. Along the way, many of us learn to hide aspects of ourselves and perform certain roles, which can leave us feeling disconnected and stuck. In therapy, I'll listen without judgment and we'll work together to explore, understand, and welcome in your authentic self. Ultimately, this will help to feel more fulfilled and connected to the world around you.
After earning my doctorate in clinical psychology from the University of Denver, I completed an APA-accredited internship at the University of Denver Health & Counseling Center, where I worked with undergraduate and graduate students in individual, couples, and group therapy. Next, I sought advanced training in therapy and assessment during my postdoctoral fellowship with Rocky Mountain Psychology.

In my free time, I enjoy playing music, reading, and cooking to nurture my creative side. I also enjoy skiing, climbing, and trail running in the mountains of Colorado.

If you are covered through a different insurance plan, you may still be eligible for out-of-network benefits to reimburse some costs of therapy.
Please contact your insurance company to learn more about your plan and
coverage benefits. I'm happy to provide you with a superbill (i.e., a receipt for therapy services) that you
may submit for reimbursement.
FAQ
What can I expect in therapy?
A good fit with your therapist is an essential part of therapy. As such, we'll start with an initial no-cost 10-15 minute phone consultation to see if we might be a good fit to work together. If so, we'll then schedule an initial session to get to know one another, gain a better understanding of what you are hoping for in therapy, and begin our work together.

Therapy appointments typically occur on a weekly basis, generally recurring at the same day and time. As such, this time will be reserved for you unless otherwise specified. All appointments take place via telehealth.
Do you accept insurance?
I am an in-network provider with Aetna and Anthem Blue Cross Blue Shield. Meaning, those with Aetna and Anthem Blue Cross Blue Shield insurance are eligible for full or significant coverage of therapy services, depending upon your specific plan.
If you have insurance coverage through another company (e.g., United, Cigna, etc.), I often provide clients with superbills (i.e., receipts for therapy services), which you may submit to your insurance for possible reimbursement of therapy services. Please contact your insurance provider to learn more about your out-of-network therapy benefits.
How do you meet with clients?
At this time, all therapy appointments take place via telehealth.
